SLW: Beautiful Mess
I love aftermath shots. Dishes with just the remaining crumbs, sticky spoons with smears of jam, bowls with swipes of chocolate. For this months Still Life With challenge, I’ve chosen a photo from a recent blog post that I did. It wasn’t a photo I had planned, but after making a batch of huckleberry calamondin marmalade that was a gorgeous ruby color, I couldn’t resist taking a quick snap of the post-jamming pot:
For your remake, you can use the leftovers of your choice and adjust your colors accordingly. But the shot should still be top down, and use similar light to this shot.
It’s really helpful when you use the new diptych format when you post your results!
If you are new to the monthly photo challenges, head over to the Flickr group for the rules and to introduce yourself.
This challenge will run through the end of December.
I agree… the color is fab with that turquoise… and the berry pattern a modern art piece.. great graphic appeal.
I’ve never been brave enough to attempt an aftermath photo, but this is such a lovely one. That colour is gorgeous!
It’s funny people pay more attention to before and during for pictures but never after. Lovely capture.
