SLW Photo Remake November: Simple Contrasts

The Donna Hay website has some beautifully simple shots to represent each of their seasonal menus. I love the look of the shot for fall. A simple potato shot, with peel. It’s high contrast and messy, and yet soft and clean at the same time.

Let’s see what you can do with this simple shot.

If you are new to the monthly photo challenges, head over to the Flickr group for the rules and to introduce yourself.

This challenge will run through the end of November.

  1. Thanks Lara for running these photo remake challenges. It is a great way to learn, and thanks to you I discovered flickr and all the wonderful talented people there. I totally fell in love with food photography quite recently and you and other fellows I found on flickr are a great inspiration for me!

Btw. I will have to try hard to get muddy potatoes! 🙂

  2. Hi! I thought you would like to know that this picture was taken by William Meppem and styled by Justine Poole (Donna Hay magazine issue 44)

Lara, I think the way you explain food photography in your blog is amazing – thank you so much for all the knowledge that you share!
